Our Facilities
Headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, MAX operates waste storage, treatment and disposal facilities (TSDFs) in the nearby towns of Yukon and Bulger. Our Yukon facility is the only facility in Pennsylvania that offers RCRA Subtitle C permitted waste treatment and on-site commercial disposal of residual waste. In addition to a residual waste landfill, the facility features a multipurpose Containment and Processing (CAP) building for slag and refractory crushing and sizing, bulk waste and product storage, and chemical treatment of dusty waste. Our Solid Waste Stabilization and Solidification (SWSS) units offer high volume and fast waste treatment and solidification. MAX’s Bulger facility is home to a multi-year re-closure project that beneficially uses non-hazardous waste as construction fill. The Bulger facility is the only facility in the state with a Phase 1 site location approval from the Pennsylvania DEP for a sub title C landfill. Both facilities offer a streamlined waste approval process and flexible operations.
